The Greater Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce recently unveiled the distinguished recipients of its 2023 service awards, honoring exceptional individuals and businesses for their outstanding contributions. Among the highlights are the Volunteer, Non-Profit, Employee, and Business of the Year awards, alongside the prestigious Wagon Boss recognitions.
In addition to honoring these remarkable individuals and organizations, the Chamber is proud to announce the awarding of three Wagon Boss Scholarships totaling $15,000 during its highly anticipated Annual Dinner on March 15. Reflecting on the abundance of deserving nominees, Chamber President Debbie Miller expressed pride in the Teller County community's dedication to service and contribution, underscoring the exceptional environment for living, working, and giving back.
Nominations for these prestigious awards opened in early December, closing on January 12th, with submissions forwarded to a panel of out-of-state judges in mid-January. Miller emphasized the importance of unbiased evaluations, ensuring impartial awards based on specific criteria meticulously assessed by the esteemed judges.

Among the distinguished winners, Sherri Albertson was recognized as the 2023 Volunteer of the Year, showcasing an unwavering commitment to community service since the age of seven. From supporting local charities to volunteering at Habitat for Humanity and fostering education through Junior Achievement of Southern Colorado, Albertson's dedication exemplifies selflessness and altruism.
The Teller County Farmers Market Association received the esteemed Non-Profit of the Year award for its enduring impact on the community. For over 33 years, the market has provided locally sourced goods while serving as a hub for cultural enrichment and community engagement, demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges.
Suzanne Leclercq was honored as the 2023 Employee of the Year for her exemplary service to Woodland Park citizens and city staff, embodying professionalism and compassion throughout her two-decade tenure as City Assistant Manager.

Wagon Boss Recognition
